Paddington Farm Trust was founded in 1983, when a group of committed individuals took on the running, and renovation, of Maidencroft Farm on the edge of Glastonbury. After five years of hard graft, including rebuilding the old farm house and re-establishing the site as a working farm, we opened to our first visitors and youth groups in 1986, and we’ve been welcoming young people, families and volunteers ever since. We offer educational and rural farm experiences, with a focus on children and young people from disadvantaged urban backgrounds, plus activities and vocational training for local children and young adults. We aim to engage young people in outdoor play, activities relating to food and farming, environmental awareness and responsibility, and support self-reliance and personal challenge through team activities and farm tasks. Our objectives is to improve the lives of our visitors by introducing them to new and exciting experiences which offer contact with farm animals, fresh air, healthy food and fun - helping to build a lifelong love and respect for the countryside.
